Cu Lao Cham to be World Biosphere Reserve
Cu Lao Cham off the central coast of Viet Nam is one step away from being declared a World Biosphere Reserve, the Viet Nam UNESCO Committee has announced.

The group of eight small islands near the town of Hoi An, Quang Nam Province covers 15 square kilometers of sea and is well known for its ecological and scenic diversity.

Cu Lao Cham is home to a wide range of fauna and flora in the forest and the sea, and many of the species are listed as endangered.

There is also trace evidence of humans living there 3,000 years ago.
